I'm still alive

So you may have noticed *enters tumbleweed* that I haven't posted for the last month *wipes metaphorical dust away from blog* and I really don't have a decent enough excuse to give other than it''s nearly Christmas ...  so i'll just quit the excuses and let you know what i've been up to instead AND let you know that I have a few posts lined up for the next week.

The 4th Avenue Winter Street Fair

I love street fairs and although i've only been to downtown Tucson and 4th avenue a couple of times, the 4th Ave Winter Street Fair has been marked on my calendar for a few months now. I can only describe this as an artists/food lover/youngsters paradise. There was so much to take in including some mesmerising enlarged gem stone images, the cheesiest most mouth watering XXXL pizza slice ever, protesters here there and everywhere, some INCREDIBLE chocolate fudge and of course... a really big cookie. Note to you all, I love cookies more than anything. Anything. So i'm already extremely excited for the spring fair which I suggest you all go to if you're going to be in Tucson next March/April.

Food, food, food, more food, food. food.
I really do live to eat, and especially love trying out next places and cuisines. Probably the most boring thing that i've been excited about recently is discovering french vanilla Coffee Mate. I now have an average New Yorkers coffee intake. Oops. Somewhere i've wanted to try for a while is the Pita Jungle and my only regret is not going any sooner. I didn't even realise it was a sit down place?! Madness, but i'm now in love. Below you will find my 4th Ave Pizza, didn't even use a filter on that bad boy

Moi

As a result of trying to accommodate my cookie and general food obsession I rejoined the gym. Don't laugh. I'm such a pathetic exerciser, however i've rediscovered my interest in yoga. There are so many benefits to yoga and I love how it's not a race or all physical. It's about knowing your limits, and for even just during the hour long class it's about finding peace with yourself and forgetting all the stress from everyday life. It's also about yoga pants... You will also see a shameless mirror selfie showing my new lighter hair using the Wild Ombre kit, my favourite Urban Outfitters 'omg that's so cute is that your boyfriends jumper?' 'no i'm forever alone, I bought this myself' jumper, and the fact that i'm still wearing shorts in December and I Love it.

Music

Recently i've been trying to expand my music knowledge. I listen to a little bit of every genre anything so odds are I will always have something in common with you all. Beyonce is always going to be an ultimate fave and unless you've been living under a rock you'll know that for god knows how long she's been making a new album COMPLETELY hidden from everyone. So that has been on a constant repeat, along with Lorde Pure Heroin. Pure Heroin is the first album in a long time where on the first listen I fell in love with every single song, so congrats on that Lorde.

I've also been listening to some classic 80's songs like Bette Davis Eyes - Kim Carnes, and Edge of Seventeen - Stevie Nicks. Completely inspired by The Carrie Diaries season 2 coming back into my life. Loving the new shorter blonder hair as well Miss AnnaSophia Rob.

So that is that, my very boring and uninteresting life. If anyone wants to fan girl with me over Sebastian Kydd my twitter is @christiejegan
I hope you hear from many of you if you have a decent taste in men.

My Week #3

Firstly, I owe you all an apology. I have been the worst blogger ever recently. Starting a new job has made my life a lot busier than I expected, even on my days off i'm finding myself having lots to do (aside from lazy day movie marathons). So no updates on the blog front, however Instagram, as per, I have found time for...

1. MINI MINCE PIES AND MINI DEVON CLOTTED CREAM! So much excitement for mince pies, double excitement for the Devon (where i'm from) clotted cream.  2. So my new job? Yep, the best cheeseburgers and fries on earth, what calories?  3. That TGIF feeling selfie  4. Dinosawsome (I had an obsession with dinosaurs as a child)  5. Elle and Strawberry porridge colour coincidence  6. Mouth-less/nose-less drawing as I can't draw those...
So I am completely guilty for even my Instagram not being updated or interesting enough, and I promise you I will update a lot more when i've got into the swing of working AND creating a social life.

My Week #2

This is a big deal guys, I made it 2 weeks without forgetting to upload my week in Instagram photo! Yay woo hooray! This week was actually really good, for the first time in a long time i've found myself having interesting things to do everyday. In an attempt to keep my intros short and sweet, i'll go straight into my photos.

1. Sunbathing... In November? Crazy unless you happen to live in an inhabited desert.  2. The most glamorous girl I know turned 18! Happy Birthday to Michelle!  3. My brand new uniform for work (If you know me then you'll know I frequently dressed in a giant cup costume at my previous job)  4. I HAVE A TRUCK AFTER PASSING MY DRIVING TEST  5. Do my eyes deceive me? Christmas is here with red Starbucks cups  6. Selfie, nuff said  7. Christmas decorations are out and spectacular as ever at Anthropologie <3  8. Let the new mirror selfies commence  9. Starting to create my wall montage with the help of charity shops and sneakily moving a mirror from the spare room. shhh!

The mandatory post

Correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't it mandatory for every beauty blogger to do an everyday makeup post when they're starting out? I guess it makes sense, if anyones even reading this then i'm sure you're interested in what kind of style I usually wear on a day to day basis. So, following the mythical blogger handbook, that's exactly what i'm going to do for you today.
Here we have a rather poor quality photo of an organised messy makeup collection

I would say my everyday makeup was fairly neutral, the sort of "no makeup-makeup" except more obvious because I cant get away with a sheer base considering my horrid teenage skin. Mascara is my best friend and after seeing a few photos of celebrities without eye brows (Justin Bieber, just lol) I've realised their importance in framing your face so never under any circumstance will I leave them ungroomed.

ahhh more shocking quality photos for you to enjoy, Barry M's Dazzle Dust in Bronze works wonders for blue eyes.
Seeing my every day array of makeup laid out like that has slightly worried me at the amount of products I actually use. My bad.

Face
Estee Lauder Double Wear concealer for blemishes, Sheer Cover concealer for under my eyes, MAC Prep + Prime BB Cream, UNE 100% Mineral Foundation amazing dupe for Bare Minerals, Sephora Collection Bronzer in Bora Bora, Topshop Highlighter in Sunbeam (i'm not 100% if they still make this shade) Revlon PhotoReady Cream Blush in Coral Reef

Eyes
BarryM Dazzle Dust in Bronze, Maybelline The Falsies  and last but not least MUA Eyebrow Pencil

I would throw in a selfie of what I look like everyday but I am the least photogenic person I know, so won't scare you with that.

The One

Take a moment. Look at it. Isn't it beautiful? Mature, elegant, warm, The One. Dolce & Gabbana The One has been my signature scent for the past two years. I may be reading into this too much, but the design and name very cleverly compliment each other. In comparison to something like Juicy Couture (I dabbled in Viva La Juicy for about a month of that 2 years) the design of The One is so simple yet I find stands out so much more than Juicy's charms, beads and frills. It's like they're saying 'you don't need anything else, because this is the only one'

The scent inside matches the outside so perfectly, it's everything you'd expect from the classy gold exterior. Wearing this gives me in instant lift, i've found my friends and family telling me that the scent reminds them of me, and it's definitely been my most complimented perfume i've ever worn! MY description of the scent would go along the lines of ... sweet, warm, flowery, makes me feel like a lady ... However i've included an actual description of the scent for those of you who can't quite fathom what my description smells like.

The One is a warm, oriental floral, with modern sensuality - a fragrance with a strong personality, and a contrasting golden sweetness. Created for the ultimate diva, The One is at once tempting, modern, and glamorous, embracing a touch of classicism. The top notes radiate a vibrant luminosity, with a sun-touched citrus, while warm fruity notes of luscious lychee and succulent peach add to the delight. The passionate heart evokes an exploding femininity, with an opulent floral soul, creating a distinct, audacious signature. An unexpected hint of plum glows as the base finally blooms with luscious allure into the lasting warmth of vanilla and sweetened ambery-musk notes.

Dare I say after that 5 star review that i'm ready to try something new? Well, I'm going to anyway. After two years I think it's time to switch things up. I'm determined to stay with that mature and warm scent perfect for a glamorous night out NOT that I ever have those though, but something like Chanel Noir is definitely on the table. Not to worry though, i'll keep you posted on how that goes.

In an ideal world

Wouldn't it be simply amazing to be able to afford all the makeup. Yes, you read right. All the makeup, as in every product ever created in the history of the universe. I'm sure many people can, but for the rest of us it's down to trial and error, religiously reading reviews on products we want to try and taking risks buying them anyway. Sometimes wasting money (which when you don't have a full time job and are 18 is kind of a big deal) and sometimes making the best investment of your life so far.

That thought, the princess tag that's going around blogs everywhere and the tiny little factor that the Christmas season is officially upon us (Starbucks red cups and gingerbread syrups say so) meaning the time to rejoice, give and receive is also approaching... if you know what I mean, Santa ... I've come up with the perfect ingredients for a beautiful face, a.k.a my wish list.
1. Luminous Silk Foundation by Giorgio Armani  2. Benefit Gimme Brow
3. Bobbi Brown Rich Chocolate eye palette  4. Mac Divine Night Mineralise Blush
5. Yves Saint Laurent Shocking Mascara 6. Dior Amber Diamond
7. Real Techniques Brushes  8. Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer 9. Nars Laguna Bronzer

And that my friends, would be my perfect essentials makeup kit!

My Week #1

Do I even bother with an explanation? As a self-confessed insta-obsessed girl, if you follow me you basically know my entire life as well as I do sooooo i'm leaping onto the blogger band wagon and doing the whole 'my week in instagram photos' thingy mabob. Definitely not the right title, but I promise you i'll work it out by next weeks.

1.Finally started my wall montage in my new room 2. The making of my poster/sweet and sour humus mmmm 3. Every 1st of the month I start my 'make this month 100% healthy thing (by the 2nd i've failed, which means 12/365 days are healthy) 4. Neighbours Halloween party! 5. Going public with my blog to everyone I know eeeek 6. My favourite mascara had to be shared after blogging about it 7. Aah Bisto, cooking a traditional British Cottage Pie 8. BISCUITS 9. The day I found PG Tips over here changed my life

Granted, this week doesn't look like the most fabulously exciting week, but please feel free to keep up with me day to day on Instagram at @christiejegan

Petrifying, I know

I vowed to never ever dress up as a classic unimaginative cat, unless it was full leopard fur, tail, all the bells and whistles! However this wonky whiskered weirdo is my halloween costume for this year. I absolutely love dressing up and eating chocolate halloweens festivities but not yet knowing anybody over in my new country, I'm going to be a bit of a loser today. I couldn't be completely halloween naked though, so say hello to my little friend.

I will of course be attending a neighbours little party which will allow me to show off my ability to eat an abnormal amount of sweets without throwing up. I'm also hoping to get a pumpkin to make sure 2 years of GCSE art doesn't go unnoticed. This year will also be a big year as i'm going to brave eating a toffee apple for the first time since I was in year 3. MAJOR BIG THING OK. Due to a dreaded concrete step that ruined my life when I tripped up it and smashed 5 (adult, may I add) teeth to smithereens. Step:1 - Christie:0
I know that looks like a huge array of nail varnishes for just a simple cat, but kittys are complex creatures that need a lot of detail... Topshop black Nail Art pen to outline the ears, Maybelline Colour Show in Chalk Dust for the two little eyes, Butter LONDON's The Full Monty (previously blogged) for the base, Sally Hansens Midnight in NY for the face, L.A colours white french manicure for some (messed up) whiskers and 17 Lasting finish in fairy cake for the nose!
